4 Ekim 2008′de gösterime girecek olan filmin yönetmenliğini yine David Hackl yönetiyor. Tobin Bell yine Jigsaw rolünde sinema severlerin karşısına çıkacak. Serinin 5. filminin senaryosu hakkında detaylı açıklama yapılmazken açıklanan bilgilere göre Jigsaw’un ölümcül oyunlarından tek sağ kalan Hoffman’ın sırrı ortaya çıkınca önüne çıkan tüm engelleri yok etmek için elinden geleni yapacaktır. Filmin yapımcılarından Mark Burg serinin 5.filminde yeni karakterler ekleneceğini ve 6. film ile alakalı karakterlerin de yer alacağını söylemiş. Ayrıca film içerisinde seyirciyi çok şaşırtacak 2 bölüm bulunacağını belirtmiş. Yine Mark Burg “daha önceki saw filmlerinden 2 kat daha fazla kan olacak” demiş. Çekimleri tamamlanıp montaj aşamasına geçilen filmin 24 Ekim 2008′de vizyona girmesi bekleniyor.
